Week 41: a slow one
Weeknote #41.25, from October 06 to October 12.
Published on .It was a bit difficult to engage with the notes for this week. I probably forgot some things worth highlighting here.
Learned #
- I finally learned how to hybrid pick on the guitar! What unlocked it for me was doing triplets, doing alternate picking beginning with an up-pick and using the "momentum" from the down-pick to comfortably hit the 3rd note in a separate string. Whew!
Listened #
- Full spin of Butterfly 3000 by King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard. Sweet synth goodness.
- Went the other end of King Gizz' spectrum, with PetroDragonic Apocalypse. Thrashy prog metal madness.
- Keeping on the Prog Metal line, I felt like revisiting Dream Theater's Train Of Thought. Outrageous musicianship. A classic at this point.
- Thanks to the finale of Peacemaker, Foxy Shazam's Oh Lord was in constant rotation!
Watched #
- The season 2 (or series?) finale of Peacemaker, "Full Nelson". Loved the Foxy Shazam's 'Oh Lord'-powered montage, the Adebayo and wife scene (wonderfully shot and acted), and how the characters ended up.
- The season 4 (or series?) final of The Bear. Ended on a great note and if it's really the end I'd be satisfied. I can see how it could keep going and it would also be nice, though. "You are The Bear". Wow.
- Together on LAB111. A surprisingly great time! Very fun despite being a body-horror movie. My review.
Played #
- "Finished" Hades II; it's obvious (and quite impressive) that there's still lots to discovery, explore, and enjoy even after rolling the credits. My review.
- Started Megabonk on Steam. Pretty much Vampire Survivors in 3D with a funny edge. Pure fun.
Read #
- Continued "A Night In The Lonesome October".
