Week 49: Padel, "Paris, Texas", and more Dispatch
Weeknote #49.25, from to .
Published on .Listened #
- Avenged Sevenfold's self-titled. Contains a handful of my favourites tunes by them, and since it's inexplicably unavailable in Apple Music NL, it had been a while since I last spun it.
- Matt Berry's Heard Noises. I just wasn't aware Matt Berry is a full blown, established musician with a large discography! I was intrigued by the "Space Vintage Rock" description I saw somewhere about this latest release of him, and gave it a spin. A fun one.
Watched #
- Started Ghosts season 3.
- Continued Animal Control season 2.
- ⭐ Paris, Texas on MUBI. The second Wim Wenders film I've watched (Perfect Days being the first). It's visually striking and methodical in its pace, character dynamics, and storytelling. A quiet epic.
- This week's Pluribus, "HDP". Really liked how they used the
from last week's episode. The slow burn is a joy. - Started our we-lost-count-th rewatch of Community, with episodes 1-4 of Season 1. We're always watching a random episode of what is easily my all-time favourite comedy show, but we decided it was a good time to go through it all once again (and hoping the movie comes out soon enough!).
Played #
- ⭐ Finished Dispatch. Loved every moment of it and cannot wait to go though it again, making different choices. My review.
- Played a couple of races in Parking Garage Rally Circuit.
- Started Disco Elysium again, this time with my wife as a "co-pilot", since she started her own campaign a while ago but never finished it. The first part of noclip's documentary was definitely a catalyst for wanting to revisit this incredible title.
Moved #
- Played 5 table tennis matches in the office.
- ⭐ Played 2 sets of Padel over 1 hour with friends, in NDSM Padel (the bike ride from my house to get there and back was a workout on its own!).
Went out #
- After playing Padel, went to Pllek for drinks and snacks with friends.
Created #
- The cover artwork for the song I wrote last week. To be released very soon!
- Wrote a couple of guitar riffs for my metal album project.
